The mechanical equipment of the rolling workshop can be divided into main equipment and auxiliary equipment according to their different roles in production.
The main equipment of the rolling mill is generally the main engine row. The main engine column is generally composed of three parts: the main motor, the rolling mill and the transmission machinery.
The main motor is the equipment that powers the rotation of the rolls. In the rolling process, the rolling mill that does not need speed regulation is usually driven by AC motor, double differential speed regulation and AC frequency conversion speed regulation technology. The DC motor works flexibly and has a wide range of speed regulation, but the cost is much higher than that of the AC motor.
A rolling mill is generally composed of rolls, stands, roll adjustment devices, roll balance positions, and roll bearings.
The roll bearing is a device that transmits power from the gear seat to the roll, or from the roll of one rolling mill to the roll of another rolling mill, or directly from the main motor to the roll.
There are two types of universal connecting shafts: universal joint shaft and plum blossom joint shaft. The universal joint shaft allows the axis of the roll to have a large inclination angle to the axis of the gear, which can smoothly transmit the torsional moment. The allowable inclination angle of the plum-blossom shaft is only 1-2 degrees, which is only suitable for rolling mills where the distance between the center lines of the work rolls does not change much. It is easy to disassemble and change the rolls.
The function of the transmission device is to transmit the power of the motor to the roll, and its composition is related to the type and working system of the rolling mill. In many rolling mills, the transmission is composed of reducers, gear seats, connecting shafts and couplings, and sometimes flywheels.
The auxiliary equipment of the rolling mill mainly includes roller table, mobile equipment, lifting equipment, etc.
The roller table is divided into a work roller table and a transport roller table. The former is arranged before and after the rolling mill to send the rolling stock into the rolling mill and lead the rolling stock out of the rolling mill; the latter refers to the roller table between the rolling mills and between the rolling mill and auxiliary equipment. They undertake the task of conveying the rolling stock.
Mobile equipment, commonly used lateral transfer equipment includes push bed, claw type or chain type steel transfer machine, and cross roller table that can be transported both vertically and horizontally.
Lifting equipment is more used to turn the rolling stock during the rolling process. Common equipments include turning doors, turning rollers, turning steel machines, etc. The blooming mill realizes steel turning by means of the turning hook on the push bed and the movement of the push bed itself.
The auxiliary equipment of the rolling mill is indispensable in the rolling process. The amount of auxiliary equipment and the rational use of it not only directly affect the production capacity of the rolling mill, but also have an important impact on the working conditions of workers.
