The Pulling Speed of Billet Continuous Casting Machine

In the steel casting production line, the speed of the lingering machine determines the production capacity of the entire production line. So, what is the speed of different types of continuous casting machines? What factors are related to the speed of the casting machine? Is the billet that produces different sections? Today, I will introduce it to you in detail.

billet continuous casting machine

First of all, it is clear that depending on the size of the billet produced by actual production, the type of casting machine is different. Under normal circumstances, the pulling speed of the continuous casting machine is about 1.8 m/min -3.5 m/min. The billet is large, the casting machine is small, and the pulling speed is slow; the billet is small, the casting machine is large, the speed is fast.

Example: Taking Judian R3.5 continuous casting machine as an example. The production section is 80mm*80mm and 90mm*90mm billet. The actual speed is 3 meters/minute. However, it is also the R3.5 linker. If it is used to produce a billet with 110mm*110mm, the actual speed is about 1.8 meters/minute.

Factors Affecting the Speed of Billet Continuous Casting Machine

Actual Production of Billet Cross-Sectional Area

In the actual production process, if the cutting area of the steel billet is large, the time required for liquid steel to solidify from liquid to solid state will be longer, and the speed of the casting machine will naturally slow down.

Liquid Steel Pouring Speed

In actual production, the pouring speed of liquid steel also has a great impact on the speed of the cast machine. The liquid steel watering speed is slow. In the same time, the amount of steel in the casting machine is small, and the solid steel generated in the crystal device within a certain period of time is less. In order to ensure the quality of the billet, the speed of the casting machine will be reduced accordingly. Conversely, the sliding speed of the casting machine will become faster.

The Output of the Furnace

If the cut -off area of the billet produced is small and the output of the furnace is large, the maximum pulling speed of the original continuous casting machine cannot meet the production needs, then, a larger linker is required to replace the casting machine.

15 ton melting furnace

Case: Two 15 ton melting furnaces with a total output of 30 tons per hour

Production of billet size: 100mm*100mm

Company casting machine selection: The R3.5 -type casting machine can produce a maximum of 90mm*90mm billet, which is obviously unable to meet the production needs. It is recommended to use split R5.25 or R6 dual -streaming machine. It can achieve uninterrupted work for 24 hours, which can reach a speed of about 2.8 meters per minute. The single -flow output can reach 13 tons/hour.

How to Ensure Continuous Casting?

When the steel billet is cast, the liquid steel in the furnace must be poured into the molten steel ladle first. At this time, the temperature of the liquid steel is about 1700 ° C. The liquid steel in the steel pack is quickly and continuously poured into the tundish ladle to ensure that the temperature in the liquid steel in the tundish ladle is not less than 1500 ° C. In this way, you can ensure that the continuous casting machine can continuously pull out the billet.

Through the above introduction, we know that if you want to increase the speed of the continuous casting machine, we must ensure that the size of the continuous casting machine is matched with the actual production of the billet section and the output of the melting furnace, and to ensure the pouring speed of the liquid steel.
