Types of rolling mills

The mechanical equipment in the rolling mill workshop can be divided into main equipment and auxiliary equipment according to its role in production.

The main equipment of the rolling mill is usually the main row.

The main motor is the device that provides power to the rollers.  During the rolling process, rolling mills that do not require speed regulation are usually driven by AC motors,

double differential speed regulation and AC variable frequency speed regulation technology. 

DC motors work flexibly and have a wide speed range, but their costs are high.

A rolling mill generally consists of a roll, a frame, a roll adjustment device, a roll balance position and a roll bearing.

Roll bearings are devices that transmit power from the gear seat to the rolls,

or from the rolls of one rolling mill to the rolls of another rolling mill, or directly from the main motor to the rolls.

There are two types of universal connecting shafts: universal couplings and plum blossom couplings. 

The universal coupling allows a large inclination angle between the roll axis and the gear axis, allowing smooth transmission of torque. 

The allowable tilt angle of the plum blossom shaft is only 1-2 degrees, which is only suitable for rolling mills where the distance between the center lines of the work rolls does not change much.  It is easy to disassemble and replace the roller.

In many rolling mills, the transmission consists of a reducer, gear seat, connecting shaft and coupling, and sometimes a flywheel.

Rolling mill auxiliary equipment mainly includes roller tables, mobile equipment, lifting equipment, etc.

the latter refers to the roller table between rolling mills and between rolling mills and auxiliary equipment.  They are responsible for transporting rolling stock.

Common equipment includes door flips, rollers, steel lathes, etc. The blooming mill realizes steel turning through the turning hook on the push bed and the movement of the push bed itself.

The auxiliary equipment of the rolling mill is indispensable in the rolling process.  The quantity and rational use of auxiliary equipment not only directly affects the production capacity of the rolling mill,

but also has an important impact on the working conditions of workers.
